The acoustic design and calibration process Acoustics Frontiers uses is based on the world class Home Acoustics Alliance methodology. At this time we are offering services for audiophile stereo and home theater systems. We can combine our services in a number of different ways to meet your unique challenges and goals. Our typical approach is outlined below and on the linked pages. If you don't think this suits you, your budget or your problems please get in touch. Some of our clients, for example, only want us to focus on tuning their EQ system or dealing with a particularly problematic bass resonance. We are a small company and so are not tied to a particular process or approach and strongly believe that 'one size does not fit all!'.
- Consult
The first step for all prospective clients is for us to setup a short, free consultation. During this consultation we will ask questions to determine if we can help and agree the services you may require.
- Diagnose
Next we will conduct an onsite or remote review of the acoustic design of your listening room. This allows us to quickly understand any key design related improvement opportunities. Typically we couple this with a set of measurements and a critical listening session in which the system is scored against the five sound quality metrics. The point of approaching the diagnosis from multiple angles is to ensure nothing has been missed.
- Improve
Most rooms have acoustic defects that must be corrected for high quality sound reproduction. Through careful acoustic design we determine the number, type and placement of acoustic treatments and the specifications for drapes, carpeting or other structural modifications that may be required.
- Calibrate
Once changes identified in the improvement plan have been made it will be possible to perform the final calibration and optimization of the system.
