Using subwoofer stands, such as the Primacoustic Recoil Stabilizers, between your sub and the floor can improve bass response and reduce sound transmission. Subwoofer stands:

• reduce the backward 'recoil' of the sub as the speaker coil moves forward, which in turn means that the the initial transient no longer suffers lag and the sharpness of the resulting impulse is more defined. Perceived sound quality improvements include improved transient response, greater punch and a more extended low end.
• reduce coupling between your subwoofer and the floor, therefore decreasing the amount of vibration that is directly transferred into your building. This will be of particular interest to folks who live in apartments or want to use their sub whilst the family is sleeping!
