Subwoofer Integration

Overview
Subwoofers are an essential part of a home theater system and can improve low frequency extension and reduce bass distortion in stereo setups.
The first step in sorting out the subwoofer element of your system is to choose a high quality, low distortion subwoofer. We recommend JL Audio's Fathom and Velodyne's Digital Drive Plus lines. The second step is to ensure your subs are properly calibrated. How subwoofers are placed within a room and how they are integrated with the rest of the system make or break final sound quality.
Approach
Acoustic Frontiers are experts in setting up one or multiple subwoofers. We use high resolution acoustic measurements and specialized techniques to perfectly optimize integration with two channel, home theater or studio speaker systems. The following elements are configured in a typical calibration session:
- Placement
- Crossover frequency
- Crossover slope
- Phase
- Level
- Time delay if available
- Parametric EQ if available
