The RPG BAD Arc Panel is a curved combination diffuser and absorber that is perfect to treat side wall reflection points
RPG, to our knowledge, is the originator of the hybrid absorber / diffuser concept. Ever the innovators, RPG developed a 2D 'phase grating' which is a patented hardboard drilled in a very specific pattern to provide diffusion. This phase grating, when combined with a fiberglass core, became the RPG BAD (Binary Amplitude Diffsorbor) Panel. The benefits of this approach are that the panel can be easily blented with interior decoration, which is not the case with well (QRD) type diffusors and can, because it is flat, be covered in any acoustically transparent fabric.
The RPG BAD Arc is very similar to the RPG BAD Panel except that is curved from 1" deep at the shallowest point to 4" deep at its thickest point. The curvature provides additional diffusion and increases panel effectiveness.
